The most famous poker tournament in the world has just begun!
Day 1A World Series of Poker Main Event attracted 771 players, including former champions, multiple winner of “bracelets”, rising stars, and of course, lots of amateurs.
They will fight for the first prize, which will be announced to the massive $ 10 million. Convincing chip leader after the first day was Martin Jacobson, a Swedish pro who sits on an impressive 200.000 in chips.
Of the five former world champions, best started Johnny Chan who has 83 375, followed by defending champion Ryan Riess of 70 255, then is Chris Moneymaker with 69,850, and Tom McEvoy with 31,900. The worst is Greg Merson, champion of 2012., who has only 7,125.
A large number of famous names had a solid start, there’s Kenny Tran (115,400), Layne Flack (75,400), Ole Schemion (75,000), Antonio Esfandiari (59,775), Annette Obrestad (54,625), Mike Matusow (53,625) and John Monnette (38,500 ).
Day 1B starts at 12 am local time and is expected to be significantly higher than the number of players than on the first day.
